A PERFECTLY preserved 2,000 year-old pasty has been discovered in the Tamar Valley.

Archaeologists say the pie is the "find of the decade" and sheds light on the origins of the world-famous foodstuff.

Their research will come as a shock to traditionalists, though.

I think it was a votive offering to pastify the gods.

I was wrong if it was a "Gangsters" pasty and a votive offering. Then that would have brought down the wrath of the gods

When I lived in Cornwall my kid Mr T whenever he came to stay would always take a dozen or two pasties back with him from a certain pasty maker in Bodmin he reckoned they were the bees knee's ..he always said the baker who could make like that up north would make a fortune .our local t..co gets unbaked pasties from a certain baker in Falmouth they run a close second to the Bodmin baker..

There are two in the running for top spot these days, one based in Hayle, and the other close to Connor Downs, near Hayle.

As I cannot remember the name of one, I will not name the other, but Connor Downs is a lovely place.
