Archaeologists in Madagascar say they have found what is thought to be the treasure of notorious Scottish pirate William Kidd.
Soldiers on Sainte Marie island have been guarding the 50kg silver bar after divers brought it to shore.
Madagascar's president as well as UK and US diplomats received the suspected treasure at a ceremony on the island.

Amazing find, even though we are told that pirates never had buried treasure.
I used to have an issue regarding having an inferiority complex, I no longer have an issue with being inferior.

Re: Pirate Capt Kidd's 'treasure' found in Madagascar
watched a documentary of them diving this site a while back...a few gold coins were recovered which made them shift to another wreck in the harbour as the gold coins were from another ship. however the adventure galley was burnt up in the harbour I seem to recall but kids crew had all but defected to another pirate taking virtually all the treasure with them so alledgedly there would be virtually nothing left to find
