Help with my new Garrett AT Pro
Hi all, having had the Ace 250 for sometime now I decided to upgrade to the AT Pro, no I have been out twice, only for a couple of hours and in that time have found.........Nothing! This is unusual where I am as I know the permissions are undetected so have a lot to give and every time I was out with the Ace I come back smiling!
So, does anyone have any experience on the AT Pro, tips, setting advice etc? Even better does anyone have one in West Sussex or Woking area (Work in Woking) that maybe able to spare some time to assist in getting to grips with my new toy.
Thanks all
Adie

When you say you've found nothing ... do you actually mean nothing? What mode are you using?

Re: Help with my new Garrett AT Pro
OK for me it does not matter what mode you are in, the AT Pro will find stuff in all modes.
Firstly do you get a signal when passing a coin over the coil in air?
Possible issues could be
The coil is not connected properly, i.e you don't have a good connection at the plug.
You could have accidentally set the notch to notch out all targets.
Check your sensitivity is not turned right down.
I know some of these are obvious especially as you have had an ACE 250 but worth checking
If you still don't have any joy PM me your number and I will give you a ring.
Cheers
Fred

Re: Help with my new Garrett AT Pro
Thank you for the replies so far, think I may have not explained clearly..........
What I meant to say was, all I am finding now is trash, I am running in zero pro mode with full sensitivity and notched out up to 35 but am struggling to get to grips with the tones and numbers. I have watched a few videos but do not really get the iron audio and how it works? I have done some air tests to get a feel for the tones I should be getting on coins etc. but some other hands on experience / advice would be great.

Re: Help with my new Garrett AT Pro
If you run it to start with in Std Mode it will sound the same as your Ace 250, when you get a signal change over to pro to double check it.adieboy wrote:Thank you for the replies so far, think I may have not explained clearly..........

Re: Help with my new Garrett AT Pro
I tried this first but seem to be getting distant quiet tones which I can not quite make out, any idea what these could be? I also think the issue I maybe having is that the detector did not come with headphones so am only using through the main speaker, again do you recommend headphones for this model....
Thank you for the mega quick reply by the way!

Re: Help with my new Garrett AT Pro
OK yes I would always recommend headphones. They have a special plug on AT headphones or you can buy and adaptor from a dealer and use your own.

Re: Help with my new Garrett AT Pro
So next question, anyone have any headphones for sale for the AT Pro?
I have a day off again this Friday so will give it another go and see what turns up.

Re: Help with my new Garrett AT Pro
Presuming it's an AT Pro International & not an AT Pro ? I would use Custom Pro mode with iron audio ON, lean to listen for BAD signals & walk away from them, the good ones will jump out at you.

Re: Help with my new Garrett AT Pro
Discrim in that mode is set to 35 default, you can turn up to 40 even with no ill effects, no good International videos sorry.
