Re: Definition of treasure trove to be recast
There have only been a few cases of Treasure TROVE since the Treasure Act was introduced back in 1996/7. The ancient rules of Treasure TROVE were incorporated into the Treasure Act. Think they just mean Treasure.

Re: hunter diigs up bishops gold ring in farmers field
It qualified as Treasure under the Act, but only the coroners inquest can actually declare it as Treasure. Since it never reached inquest (as it was disclaimed) it was only ever potential Treasure.

Re: PAS Conference 2015 registration
The database is on maintenance only at the moment Phil as Mary Chester Kadwell the ICT contact is on maternity leave. For general ideas it will probably be best to contact the PASt explorers outreach officer Clem Cooper at ccooper@britishmuseum.org

Re: keep Anglo-Saxon brooch in country
Personal comment, but in a similar vein; I am concerned at the amount of our National Heritage that may be going out of the country following metal detecting rallies these days, with no sign of an export licence to legalise it or track what is going.

3D find imaging
Here's a great 3D image of a Bronze Age Sussex Loop. It has been produced via one of the Crowd Sourcing initiatives running at the BM. In time selected 3D find images will be embedded into the PAS database records. :g38: https://sketchfab.com/models/553398785bb34bc582d631309aff07b7 Palstave here - h...

Re: Livery buttons
Thanks Dioz, It looks like Spurling could well be the man. May well be giving a presentation on finds from the site to the local history society later in the year. If I mention the button, I'll credit you.
Cheers
