Re: LCSS Open Dig - Lichfield, Staffs - Sunday 16th October 2022

Well that was a bit of a day. 18 Denari, 12 Hammered. 8 Roman brooches, Roman key handle, hair pin. IA woad grinder, IA/roman spiral finger ring, an array of farm tokens (20+), Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian coins. You wouldn`t have thought it was the 5th visit! No photos today, I`m knackered and it...

Nice farmer is moving the tree trunk so we can drive closer to the fields to save a long walk.

Anyone wanting info/to attend can email: jcmaloney@btinternet.com

LCSS Open Dig - Lichfield, Staffs - Sunday 16th October 2022

We have about 160+ acres of ploughed, cultivated, drilled and rolled available "near Lichfield". Its a cracking site that has turned up a lot of stuff from Bronze Age, lots of Roman to Medieval. Sadly it is slowly disappearing under houses and HS2 so this might be the last decent visit. :t...

LCSS Open Dig, Sunday 25th Sept 2022, Nr Salisbury, Wiltshire

After two visits the farmer wants us back again! Currently, a bit of a placeholder with more information to follow and I will update this post as and when. It will be new land on the same farm. It will be 9.00 am start until you drop or 6.00 pm. It will be flat cultivated land and might be drilled. ...
