I think that this is 17th century, although giving an pottery ID from a photo is always harder than 'in the flesh' so I'm only as sure as I can be from the photo.

Sad but true Lee. English Heritage are calling for this which is ok BUT if/when the reported incidents increase (due to this campaign) they can then use the stats as a case to try and restrict/licence the hobby.....that will be a lose lose situation for the hobby in my opinion. These thieves will do...

Coincidently I had a chat about this last night to do some research for the woman who is passionate about getting the 'lost' footpaths in our parish registered. We have at least six to confirm the route as accurately as possible and there may be a couple more but they may be private green lanes that...

The first and fourth quarters are definitely for the Biddulph family, as is the crest, so Dave is onto the correct family.
