Hammer and chisel as Sicco says .. Not that I'm condoning the practice but,don't these goons realise that lumps of Hadrians wall is hacked off and taken home in rucksacks as momento's every year. surely tapping off a small metal plaque isn't going to do too much harm.

Interesting read ...Another good read is the novel 'Stonehenge' by Bernard Cornwell .. In the novel the bluestones were floated on log rafts down the severn estuary and up the Bristol Avon ..a much quicker method than dragging them for miles and miles over hill and dale as is the official version . ...

It never bothered me before I retired , I just went with the flow (sorry about the pun) . Last week I took the trouble to work out what a gallon of petrol was costing me ..£6.18 :g40: I remember when I had my first car it was 3/10d (19p). I'll just have to cut down on the driving now .
