To change multiple waypoint symbols (thanks Puffin for this info);

Right click on the waypoint folder
Click on 'Properties'
Click on 'Style,Colour'
Then design your label and waypoint icon

It's worth turning on the 'Borders & labels' layer which highlights county boundaries as it can show where field boundaries have been removed
