Easy, get some permissions, and do your own, "invite only digs", then invite your pals, and charge them a fiver each to give to the farmer.

Re: Only real adventure if you get your knees scuffed
All of the above and more to come I reckon. One of the reasons so many suffer from "minor" illnesses, as they used to be in our day, (well some of us), is because we have become programmed to super hygene. When I was a kid, we played in muddy pools, we got dirty, and cut our knees or other...

Another great issue, thank you to all involved. It never ceases to amaze me how good this magazine, which UKDN came up with, is.

Re: Treasure hunter uncovers coins in Ripley
That handle makes me sick. We are metal detectorists, who, occasionally find something which is later declared treasure. Do I become jealous of someone who has such a find ? NO, but in all honesty I am envious of them. I go detecting because I enjoy doing so, I go out expecting to find nothing. Howe...

Re: Metal detecting enthusiasts allegedly caught steal
Thank you for posting the article Steve. It should be taken as a timely reminder to all of us, to be careful when we request permission to detect on a site, to do some research into any prohibitions which may be in statute regarding the site. It also highlights yet again the need for us to keep an e...

Re: Thousands of listed buildings damaged by crime
I really am sorry to do this but, just maybe EH should look at the harm being done by the digs organised by Time Team, and their programs. God only knows, we detectorists have taken more than enough flack for "damage" we are alleged to do, not that this report says so, but, just possibly I...
