Re: dubbed the 'Holy Grail of metal detecting'

Blimey - he has been in every local paper and now in a national one!! He certainly likes his publicity our Sean :g42: The coin was found a few miles from where I live too :g64: For some strange reason some people do like publicity, I'm personally the complete opposite and remain in the shadows... :...

Re: viking glass from lindisfarne

I don’t think anyone would have discarded that, especially not on an archaeological dig.
A beautifully decorated glass artefact. :g50:
I have a Saxon bead on my wish list, but a bit of Viking glass will do. :g46: :g42:

Rare Saxon

Hey tinner is this a mate of yours?
Andy Hall of Wiltshire, Coombe Bisset, finds rare Saxon coin of Ludica. He only ruled for one year 826-827 AD. He was King of Mercia.
I would give a link if I knew how. Anyway I expect Lee will report it soon.

Re: need a detecting buddy

Good Luck mate. I’m sure there will be someone on the forum you can pal up with. It’s not the same detecting on your own, you want someone else to share the excitement with.
If you don’t find anyone, you can always join a club. :g50:
