Yes it’s common to win a prize some time ago you could win a tector but they wised up
Others do it to get some attention because they don’t find much cos they have low attention span to keep going with no finds

I chat to a couple local guys who use a magnet and finds are usually scrap metal,shoping trollies feature mostly ,with bike frames and bent wheels, gas piping and scaffolding poles ,and street signs ,that’s about it ,I have never seen anything usefull and they usually leave a mess for the council to...
