Re: I found Roman coins worth £100,000...
Why do journalists insist on quoting the estimated monetary value as a priority and use terms like "first treasure hunt" "inaugural treasure hunt" and "significant payday"?.....Oh, and once more the term Treasure Trove continues to be used (sounds better than just Treas...

Spectacular bronze age torc unearthed in Cambridge
A gigantic gold torc, so big one expert thinks it may have been worn to protect a pregnant woman, has been found by a metal detectorist in a ploughed field in Cambridgeshire. It was made from 730 grams of almost pure gold more than 3,000 years ago, and is regarded as the best found in England in mor...

Unearthed 1,300 pounds – half a ton-of Roman coins
In Tomares, Spain, whilst digging ditches and laying pipes, workers stumbled upon a literal treasure trove. It seems that sometime in the past, one person (or several people) buried nineteen jars filled with Roman coins in what would become Zaudin Park. Naturally after the find, all work on the park...

Re: Lead bag and cloth seals
Hi Stu. Another one from my new site. This time looks like a multi-part seal. The face with the flying eagle and a crown above it was folded over and hidden until I unfolded the seal. None of the other faces or the rivet have any design on them.... :g50: 2016_0922_144413AA.jpg And opened up a bit mo...
