RESIZING PICTURES

Post by ceejay »

1. If you have Windows XP then this is the one to download. Go to this page and look for Image Resizer in the list down the right-hand side of the page. Download and install:-

With this installed you can right-click on any picture and you will have a 'Resize Pictures' option. Adjust to the preset sizes or if you click on the 'Advanced' button you can set the size to anything that you want.

2. This free programme is useful and will do many other things in addition to resizing. Also can be used with any version of Windows. Often just re-saving the jpg file will result in a smaller file. I usually save at 85% which results in a smaller file with no loss of quality but you can reduce to any % that you require:-

You can use a free Image Hosting site and link to the picture. This has the advantage that you can have bigger file sizes and the picture is posted directly into the text wherever you put the link. Also with photobucket the link is already provided - you only need to copy and paste it into your post. I use PHOTOBUCKET but there are others - IMAGESHACK etc:-
