More than 3,000 Roman coins have been discovered in a field, it has emerged.
The hoard of copper alloy coins, dating from the 3rd Century, was unearthed in Montgomery, Powys, several weeks ago.
About 900 were found by a member of a Welshpool metal detecting club, with the rest of the discovery made with help from archaeologists.
The exact location is being kept secret to protect the site. The Powys coroner will determine whether they qualify as treasure.
Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust (CPAT), which helped unearth the coins, said the discovery had the potential to reveal more about Roman life in mid Wales in the late 3rd Century.

No doubt then - Romans left Britain because of all the cash they lost - judgeing by finds over the last few years.

It's King Arthur's purse loss, he lost them in Camelot. In case you are wondering about my rambling, see the post regarding the supposed location of Camelot.
Just because you are not paranoid, it does not mean that they are not out to get you

Re: 3,000 Roman 3rd Century coins found
I was speaking to one of the finders of this shortly after it was found.I was very jealous. Found five minutes from my house on land I have permission to detect on
Disturbingly he said the chap that found it was using his minelab explorer and the reading was showing just off the iron end of the screen. He left it a couple of times then decide to dig it .The top of the pot was at 12 inches depth. I was thinking about how many times over the years I have left a signal like that showing just off the iron reading on my explorer thinking its a big bit of iron.
I might have to change what I dig.Makes you think!
