Just received my October issue of Saga magazine, and found an extremely interesting article on Vindolanda - well worth a read, and you will not be surprised by some of the reactions that the came from "officialdom" in the early years.

Went there a few years ago, fascinating place.

Walked Hadrians wall a few years back and took time to visit Vindolanda, superb place kept me busy for 4 hours and could easily have spent longer there.
