I assume you mean Microsoft Word ?Donnydave wrote:I managed to install it and its running ok and everything works with it, except windows word 2010 was removed my grandaughters boyfriend put it on for me and it must have been an illegal version
With MS Office there was a patch to allow "evaluation copies" to run without getting
the nag screen on WinXP. Not so easy with Win7.
I have been using Open Office for some time now, without any problems. The only
thing you don't get is an equivalent of Publisher. Which also applies to cut down
versions of MS Office.

Re: Windows 10
I'm still using MS Office 2003 on Windows 10. I seem to remember having to down load a patch for 8.1? Otherwise it still works well.

Re: Windows 10
I am on Office 365 on Windows 8.1 and have just updated all the Office programs to 2016 versions which are designed for Windows 10 (supposedly). I have the Windows 10 update downloaded but have not installed it yet. I will wait a while as it is interesting listening to the various pluses and minuses here................

Yes that's the one. I was confused when you said Windows word.Donnydave wrote: I use Apache open office?
Should have been ok on a re-installation of the latest Open Office ?.
Or maybe they now have a version which you need to use for Win10 ?
One of the reasons I avoid downloading all of the Windows updates:
I just downloaded some for the first time in ages. Then I went to look at a video
in Media player. I had a question and answer session come up, which in
essence was asking if I wanted to share my videos and photos with everyone in
the known universe. It couldn't understand why I declined the offer.

Re: Windows 10
I got the new Office Suite free through work & have upgraded to Win10....... only downside is to ensure you aren`t signed in to Onedrive (or whatever the cloud thing is called!!) otherwise all your stuff, including what you are working on, is "helpfully backed up". Frequently...which if you are working on databases etc is a royal pita.
