Silver coins from Henry VIII's reign found in Nottinghamshire village

Silver coins from Henry VIII's reign, a medieval gold ring and a hoard of third century coins found in Nottinghamshire villages were among items declared as "treasure".

Assistant coroner Stephanie Haskey confirmed the historical finds were at least 10 percent precious metal and over 300 years old, the criteria needed to meet the classification, at Nottingham Coroner's Court on Tuesday.

The site at Harworth by the Bawtry to Tickhill Road, has a housing estate being built upon it.
