Geo-phys machines can`t be adjusted as they just see metal (ferrous or non ferrous).

Oldfossil..... you keep mentioning your pictures of holes.... if you are that concerned just post them on here..... any evidence they were caused by detectorists?
John, not wishing to be silly, again. I fully understand your comment "top end" machines, which one would expect. However, the hobby is full of folk who cannot afford top end ones, such as myself. We would no doubt suffer most if seeding were to become widespread as a
deterrent. I really do feel that there is a lot we as a whole can do to if not STOP hawkers, but to make their existence much harder for them to operate, and wonder whether folk can
come up with ideas which would work. What say you?
OGJ the point about a seeded site is that there is no further detecting on it ... if night hawkers persist to the extent that they turn up in the dark, and cleverly notch out the seeded cocktail ... then fair dues to um!!! but no worries coz they aint that clever!
Ideas that will work should meet the following criteria
1. they must be cost effective .. ie cheap
2. they must be easy to deploy
3. they must be long lasting
4. they must be legal and not cause a hazard to others

OF, I did say that I fully understand the comment about top end machines, but, I also said,
"if seeding were to become widespread as a deterrent".

I remain op the opinion that "seeding" is not a good solution, as it is already pretty much a status quo due to bad green waste management.
I used to have an issue regarding having an inferiority complex, I no longer have an issue with being inferior.

So what defines those holes as made by hawks & not badgers or anything else? They look pretty rough to me.

They actually look like dunes, which of course are sandy, and when walked upon,
will cause this kind of damage. Not sure of the correct name/spelling, but that
looks like marron grass, used to strengthen sand dunes extensively down here in
Cornwall.

Its not cornall
its not sand
Its not dunes
its not marram grass
its not badgers
and it sure aint caused by little green men in drones..
I could show you all my holiday shots at Barbury castie ... the castle that I've mentioned in practically all my posts above.
So please lets keep this sensible ... I think we can safely rule out Brown Bear activity if thats okay with you OGJ :kissblow: :kissblow: :kissblow: :kissblow:

I never said it was Cornwall
I said "they look like dunes" not were dunes.
I said looks like marram grass.
made no mention of badgers, being ridden by little green men sat in drones.
and have no idea about brown bears being in your area.

I was merely making a comparison on the appearance. :kissblow: :kissblow: :kissblow: :kissblow: :kissblow:

Yes OJG ...
My car is the same size as a Jag
It appears to have the paint work of a RR
and it looks like its on the forecourt of Prestige Cars ...

that said its a Mondeo parked on my front drive!!!

Not sure why the comparison with Scottish, moss covered mountains, or marram grass covered Cornish sand dunes??
Happy days as we used to say in Banking... that was before, during and after the crash!!

They look like holes made by foraging badgers.
I know one looks square; but so does one of the ones in this picture, and these are made by badgers.

What the hell has your car to do with anything ? You need to chill a bit.
