I'm not surprised. The valuation is ridiculous.

That's a cracking find surely of importance.

Valuations can be challenged if he has evidence to support it's worth more.

So it is legally his son's find, the father only has a half claim if he owns the land it was found on. I am surprised the neighbour hasn't tried to make a claim too as it was on the fence line.

He does, he got bid offers of near £50,000 before he pulled the ad!

Fair point kev.... :g50: and as you say a wonderful find, 3 foot is a deep hole for a garden fence post.... :g43: I have gone that deep in the past to hang heavy gate posts., If I dig 2 foot around my way I hit a very stoney sandstone rubble pan layer that you need a breaker bar to get through.....

Have any of you guys read the public comments below the article, is it any wonder things are not declared some people think they can just flog it on.
