Mackenzie Crook: How I tamed a robin
Since I was a boy I have wanted to tame a wild robin so that it would feed from my hand. I must have read somewhere that with time and patience these little birds will learn to trust you and come to you for food.
This year I found the time and patience to do that, and ‘Winter George’ (as I’ve named him) has become a constant companion in my garden...............

A good read.
Mind you another series would ensure the meal worm supply for a few years.
Happy Hunting,

Re: Mackenzie Crook: How I tamed a robin
That's a great read, having built up a relationship with a pair of gulls over the past year, to the point where they now allow me
to get out of my car and stand with them, in order to hand feed them. There is such a feeling of joy when it comes good like that.

I used to have an issue regarding having an inferiority complex, I no longer have an issue with being inferior.

Re: Mackenzie Crook: How I tamed a robin
great little tale ,I feed a couple of Rheas for a friend there is a robin who cones down to join in .although he stays several feet away ,,,when we were kids in Essex we had a magpie for years who would perch on my bed headboard overnight ...free flying ,it loved as per the tv series all things shiny . milk bottle tops suffered big time up our lane .before the war mum and dad had a pet shop ,all sorts of animals passed through their hands ,mum took a lioncub from London to Glasgow on her lap ,,at one point she was mauled by a bear ,still remember her scars ....many many years ago there was a guy who rode the WALL OF DEATH at Southend kursal with a lion in his sidecar he was a mate of me dads ,I believe when the lion died it was buried in front of a pub somewhere in the Southend area

Here's a picture of a Robin that took a fancy to my snack-bar
I also had one follow me along a hedgerow whilst the field was covered in snow.
