It really is stunning isn't it.
I used to have an issue regarding having an inferiority complex, I no longer have an issue with being inferior.

I believe it is now with the BM in London, on it's journey through the treasure system - just hope they don't lose it, like they did with the £3/4 million Cartier ring

Its been found.JBM wrote:What is the latest news about this super Roman Ring find ?

According to the oracles on FB its "worfff" between £15,000 and £150,000!
Its on its way to the BM and the finder, despite being given sound advice, took it to be "valued" at the local auction house who rolled him for £700.
If its just a general auction house it won`t be worth the paper its written on.
Ho hum.

There is one thing I hate, and that is when the media call us amateur treasure hunters. We are metal detectorists.
You don't hear of archeologists being called treasure hunters
do you.

Re: 1,800-year-old Roman signet ring
Who was the actual finder and who dug it out?.
Was it a Equinox or a XP Deus located the initial signals ?.
Some of us are hearing about rumblings and are watching with interest.

Re: 1,800-year-old Roman signet ring
It was on a scattered bronze Roman hoard "patch" where they found another 80 coins they missed the first time......JBM wrote:Who was the actual finder and who dug it out?.

Happy Hunting. Jerry.
Chap with a Deus got the signal first, thought it was "iffy" (48gms of solid gold......iffy?? )
Then Jason dug it with the Equinox.
They say it will be a split between the landowner and both "finders".

Re: 1,800-year-old Roman signet ring
That sounds more fair than a 2 way split with one person having all the headlines.
Practice makes perfect with using any any detector.
Certainly there must be one very happy farmer/landowner.
Happy Hunting,
Jerry.
