Oldest whisky still in the world dating back to 1494 is discovered at a medieval abbey in Fife where William Wallace took refuge in 1298 after defeating the English in battle

The historic discovery was made at Lindores Abbey in Fife
Lindores Abbey was where William Wallace rested after Battle of Black Earnside
Experts believe the installation was used for distillation during medieval times
