A wonderful find what an amazing ''life''it's had. You can't take away the feeling and emotion that goes with such a discovery.
With it's size it would one day have been damaged by machinery so well saved.
It's a pity that a museum didn't get it as with most things bought privately not many people get to see them.
They usually re emerge after a person ''no longer has authority of them'' and family don't know what to do with these things.

If I'm ever lucky enough to be in this situation, I'm going to tell the reporters that it was my first time using a metal detector and it was in the first hole dug..... just to wind veryone up
