Re: 'Neanderthal tools' found at dig
I saw this on the news yesterday and I personally think they're jumping a little to quickly to have any real evidence that these are Neanderthal tools. The guy said they've been at the site for a month, I'd personally like to see what scientific evidence they have about this so far.
Jacobi is no doubt one of the top guys in his field, but they should be backing all this up with some radiocarbon date, environmental samples and thermoluminescence to name but a few tool available.
It will certainly be amazing if this turns out to be true, especially as it will predate Boxgrove which is seen as a watershed site.
