Re: Royal unveiling of restored tomb
We detect not to far from where Edward II suffered possibly the worst death of all our kings.
It seems that he should be killed in a fashion that left his outward appearance unmarked.
2 men were given the task and after his being weakened by imprisonment and lack of food he was held down and a cow horn inserted up his rectum.
This was followed up with a Red hot iron and it is said that his screams were heard from a some distance away from his cell.
There may well have been other reasons for this method of execution as he favoured his male friends rather than those of the Queen.
Well there is a bit of little known history for some of you .Jerry.
