Goldmaxx arm strap

Post by firesmudge »

PROBLEM
Got the machine second like it but missed the arm srap that is on my DFX. Thought about fitting one to arm cup then thought remove it & replace with DFX arm cup but then I loose the bracket for fixing control box.
RESULT
Problem solved keep existing arm cup with control box clip & fit the DFX strapped arm cup below that on shaft result very comfy & more supportive to wrist & stops my arm jumping out of the cup
YOU GOTTA WALK OVER IT TO FIND IT!!!!

I fitted some sticky back Velcro to my arm cup.
A couple of 2" squares of hook fitted to the outside of the arm cup, then i have a longer length of 2" dia loop stuck back to back. This way you can release it from either side of the arm cup. Or remove it totally.

Velcro´s nice till you go down a slippery slope in the wet. If you fall, at the least you have a broken detector, at the worst a broken detector and a broken arm. Lim Lock works for me, let go and the detectors away. :D

I never really have it that tight anyway. Once i have it adjusted i tend to just slide my arm in or out, without
unhooking it, so in a second i can slip the detector off if need be.

That´s what most people think, till they find themselves going downhill at a remarkable rate, the only thought then is to stick your arms down to protect your back, but yours arms attatched to a detector, and before you get your arm out, you´ve hit the floor.

Have never really gone A over B in 20+ years of detecting. The fields i normally detect on here in deepest darkest Essex are as flat as a grannys boobs. :g42:

Just joined the site, just got an XP GMP.
I've seen the cup cut to acommodate a strap, but I am loathed to do that inside warranty period.
Your tip gets around that and is just the sort of advice I was hoping to come accross to assist me get togrips with my new Goldie, many thanks- SGROAT. :g50:
