OPEN CS Dig Sunday 26th Feb

Hi all

Just to let you know we have a dig this weekend on Sunday 26th Feb on 60 acres of arable land in East Northants.

The site has been ploughed since our last visit in 2015. Personally, we love this site, although finds are not everywhere the finds that come from the site are quality. The site and area has lots of history on and around the fields.

The site has on past visits produced Celtic coins, 8 Sceats, hammies, roman coins, roman brooches and a couple of Saxon strap ends and Bronze age arrow head, along with other bits and bobs, this of course has no bearing on this what might be found this visit.

There is a scheduled monument an Iron Age Hill Fort, a Saxon settlement and an early Medieval settlement this is all on an adjacent field and will be strictly out of bounds.
