Re: UKDN Word - Issue 5
The news letter is wonderful thanks to all who have put it together I know what hard work is involved.
Having read Phil Dunnings piece my hat size has shot up a few millimeters.
Thanks Phil nice to know when your efforts are appreciated.
It is imperative that all the finds you make are recorded, the information and location is important to those studying the history of our land not only today but in generations to come.
Support your FLO when ever you can, even your wassas! need recording.
(To those uninitiated wassas are fragments of something or other, designated for your scrap box.)
Happy New Year to all! and may your finds bags be full.
Jim

Re: UKDN Word - Issue 5
Sound advise that Jim
I'd like once more to thank the people who have contributed to making the Newsletter the success it has been so far and to appeal to others to keep the contributions coming.
I'd like to appeal for articles for the Grass Roots section in which members have passed on the benefits of their years of experience and showed their finds to others. Articles on beach detecting would be much appreciated as this to many landlubbers is a mysterious grey area, just where do you start?, where do you avoid?, what have you found over the years?
Eventually mastered your machine, know how to set it up to cut out the rubbish without missing the goodies, have a recipe for success that others could benefit from?, then write a short article and pass your advice on, you can't take it with you!
Also why not show others how you have helped in the Community so they may do the same, just a short article of about half a page and an image or two to complete the picture is all that is needed.
If you want the chance to go under the Spotlight we have a full page or two just waiting to hear your story, write it now for posterity.
Or why not just take your camera out with you and see what you can snap, there has been some tremendous images taken of finds as they come out of the ground and of members enjoying the crack at rallies and outings, just post them to me and we will see if we can publish them in the future.
If you can't contribute we hope you can just sit back and enjoy the Newsletter and would like to wish you all a Happy New Year from the News Team and hope you can all get some detecting in and that this year is a special year for you

Very good publication. Could rival The Searcher and Teasure Hunting at this rate. Keep up the good work.
