Livery buttons
I am interested in images of livery buttons for my website Click Here so that I can hopefully identify them for the finder and then place them on the site.
Please place your buttons on this thread, I will try and id them if possible and you also get to see your finds on the site, knowing it may help someone in the future.
Single button pictures only please, no multiples on one picture

Re: Livery buttons
Hi Kev
This one is not in the best of condition, unfortunately.
I think it belongs to the Marquess of Bute. The motto reads 'Noblis Ira'.
Yep, Marquess of Bute, Earl of Windsor, Earl of Dumfries and Bute. The family is Crichton-Stuart and the lion is from the Stuart side of the family. The motto translates to 'Noble in Anger'. Kev.

This button is for the Capel family, who as the Capel-Coningsby family became Earl of Essex, Viscount Malden and Baron Capel. I have a couple of examples of the full coat of arms buttons on my site. Kev. Click Here

Re: Livery buttons
Blue Yeti may be interested in the PONTEFRACT VOLUNTEERS button ...and also the one with REPTON OTC on it...which apparently is a Repton School "Officer Training Corps" button.

I think this one is MacDonald of Sleat, on the isle of Skye. But not 100% certain.
