Re: Livery buttons
And I think the Myfamilysilver Fletcher crest description matches the crest on the button...even if their pic doesn't.

Re: Livery buttons
I found this solid livery button, the detail inside the shield looks like a tree or maybe a stags head with antlers, it’s difficult to get a good picture. Any information would be great. It’s 18mm diameter

Re: Livery buttons
Found this today, the corrosion may hinder any ID; found on the Hereford/Glos border near to Ledbury if that helps.
Thanks in advance, A.

Re: Livery buttons
A "wolf salient" crest and an "eagle displayed" on the 1st and 4th quarters indicates that it's probably a BIDDULPH family livery button.arfrape wrote:Found this today, the corrosion may hinder any ID; found on the Hereford/Glos border near to Ledbury if that helps.

I'll see if I can get a more specific ID.

Re: Livery buttons
The first and fourth quarters are definitely for the Biddulph family, as is the crest, so Dave is onto the correct family. Just need to sort the second and third quarter arms, which will most probably be a spouse.

Thanks Dave, that's amazing and really interesting, yes that name is synonymous with Ledbury.DiOz wrote:A "wolf salient" crest and an "eagle displayed" on the 1st and 4th quarters indicates that it's probably a BIDDULPH family livery button.arfrape wrote:Found this today, the corrosion may hinder any ID; found on the Hereford/Glos border near to Ledbury if that helps.

As with Dave's post, really fascinated by this Kev, in fact the site isn't too far away from an estate where the main route through is Biddulph Way - don't you just love this hobbykev woodward wrote:The first and fourth quarters are definitely for the Biddulph family, as is the crest, so Dave is onto the correct family.
