Re: Livery buttons
I think it is a 'mount' the falcon is on Dave not a lure as you have shown. It isn't the right family but an example is here Click Here

Re: Livery buttons
I thought the bird was on a mount or rocks until I found that myfamilypic pic that looked so similar to the crest on the button...and then saw that it was used by a family in Berkshire where the button was found.

Looks like the Hide family was the closest to the find area.

Re: Livery buttons
This one is pretty much knackered, but I know the left hand crest (dolphin impaled on a spear) is of the Horton family of Catton, and was hoping for an assist with who the right hand one (which looks like a mailed horses head) might belong to.
Found in South Derbyshire. The backmark is for Pitt, so after 1875.

Re: Livery buttons
The right hand crest looks to be a griffin's head couped and collared, something like the Rudd family crest Click Here although your one seems to have a ball type object in its beak. More research required

Re: Livery buttons
Knowing what County a livery button was found in often helps to ID it.ashbos wrote:I've been trying to i'd this for ages, any help appreciated

I mainly detect in Bedfordshire but sometimes wonder into the neighboring counties if that helps.
