I think the crests look like a phoenix in flames, and a heraldic antelope's head out of a ducal coronet, but I don't know which family the button is from.

Not a button, but I'd appreciate help i.d.ing this bronze badge, which looks like it may have dropped off the door of a very posh coach (?).
Found in Northamptonshire

Found this near Salisbury earlier in the week, it measures 15mm. I can't make out the back mark.

It appears to be a COVENTRY family livery button.

Image Image

The pic next to the button is an Earl of Coventry bookstamp.... Click Here

The shield on the button consisting of the same two Arms impaled, could mean that the husband and wife were cousins...and as there's no coronet above the crest to confirm that the button is from a titled family household (Earl of COVENTRY?), it could also be from an untitled one.

COVENTRY family crest...

Thanks for that. I really appreciate the info. I can't match the motto on the crest to the button. Am I misreading it?

I had trouble matching the first word in the motto...but going by the rest of the Arms and crest I thought it couldn't be anything else but a COVENTRY family livery button.

I found the following regarding COVENTRY cousins marrying........
"In 1823 Thomas William Coventry married his cousin Anne Coventry, the youngest daughter of his uncle John Coventry (the 6th Earl's youngest son). Thomas and Anne had several children but separated in 1834".

Edit - MISTAKES FIXED!! :g50:
