Just a notice, but if you have found any bag seals and would like to add to the corpus please do. Either place some good quality pictures of the front and back, or just front, to this thread where StuE can take them for the site he's adding them too....

see Here

Cheers
Pete :g50:

Anglo-Continental Guano Works Ltd. AngloContinental, originally Ohlendorff & Co., had been founded in 1873, and remained a German company until the First World War, when it was reconstituted under British control. It was taken over in 1937 by Fisons Ltd. and closed in 1946.

Company Name - Proctor and Ryland
Location - Saltney (near Chester)
Believed off bag of bone manure.
Proctor and Ryland formed this Company in 1856 at Saltney, having moved up from Birmingham. They continued in that name until 1894 when the company was sold to Webbs. The company produced bone manure.

Tomredmayne thanks - http://ourpasthistory.com/Gallery/bagse ... dmayneseal This is probably the ‘rivet’ bit that would insert into a larger part of a cloth seal.

Cerberus thanks – http://ourpasthistory.com/Gallery/bagse ... eberusseal that’s a nice clear example – you probably know all about them but here’s a link just in case - http://www.suttons.co.uk/History.htm

Hemburyhill thanks - http://ourpasthistory.com/Gallery/bagse ... ryhillseal Hope someone spots this and recognizes it.

Yes please moonshine as foreign ones often appear over here too. Photo front & back even if it's blank please - county found in or equivalent over there ! Plus anything you've managed to deduce about it of course.
