Makers marks and dates for clay pipes

I pick up bits of clay pipe quite frequently. They are an excellent indicator of the occupation and usage history of land. Unless you get a diagnostic fragment that gives bowl angle, size etc they are however difficult to date. The biggest surviveable chunks of pipes are frequently around the heel where the makers mark is to be found. This site categorises a good number of makers marks with piccies and context dates - very useful.
