Phil

Some very good links on your post, it'll certainly help a lot of people especially the newbies. I'm sure the pic of the belted musket ball was one I posted somewhere back last year.

Marc, hunting for wabbit in 1853 was no laughing matter, especially with an Enfield rifle :N

It was the back stop for an 1850s rifle range..going to go back and dig up some more..Hope to get over a 1000 next time I go out.

They all came out of an area 7 feet by 7 feet...too many targets for the machine..so I would dig a bit...then run handfulls of dirt infront of the coil...sometimes I would pull 5 bullets out of a single handful of mud.

Were they the smooth bore or the new rifled ones Dean and what do you do with them all?

If all were within a 7x7 foot area, they were pretty good at shooting.......the only thing is, how many were firing there and at what distance?......
