I would very much like to be able to photograph coins and artefacts as per dig-it-pete's method using macro and ring flash.
I have been in touch with Pete by PM and he has been most helpful. Pete uses a bridge camera.
My wife enjoys taking the pictures and owns the camera used.
The problem we have is that we cannot find a ring flash device that mentions this particular camera as compatible.
It is a Canon Powershot SX60HS bridge camera.
Hopefully one exists somewhere but our lack of knowledge renders it unwise to act without advice from someone who knows for sure, so here's hoping.
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Wigeon - you need to find out what the thread diameter is on the inside of the end of the lens for adding attachments, then ask the sellers if they have that diameter adaptor to fit.
Mine came with around 8 different sized adapter plates which fit most models of camera. Failing that take your camera into a camera shop and get them to sort it (do camera shops still exist?). I personally would just get a ring-flash unit online, as I am sure one of the adapter plates supplied with it will fit your camera, if not you can always return it.

If you purchase a ring flash and none of the supplied adaptors fit your camera lens there are an abundance of step up/step down rings available to enable you to create a suitable combination.

Thank you Pete and Phil. I have had a look at the online manual for the camera and found that the filters are 67mm, so perhaps that would be the size of the ring flash adapter ?
My wife is going to email the seller as suggested.
