Cheers Lee :g48:

I don't know if the site had any warning signs on display but if not they may have helped, as would a camera to nail the guy?

The sign doesn't have to flag up that it's a scheduled site which may attract hawkers.

To be honest I have no idea Phil... sadly I believe the people that do this won't be deterred unless there are harder penalties and punishments implemented... :g43: :g58:

We all hope that the offender/s get caught, and that the full weight of the law is brought into play.

Long prison sentence, loss of their equipment, plus a huge fine. If convicted their ugly mugs will
be on the police national computer for the rest of their days.

I wonder how they came to the conclusion this damage was detector related? there are no signs of 'spoil' or 'plugs' to suggest it was dug out. looks more like badgers or some other animal leaving this mess if you ask me :g43:

Perhaps this was why they thought it was a detectorist and not a badger?

Yes roman sure is... :g58: unfortunately a few media sources have started to jump on this stories bandwagon and portray us all negatively. I can only think that it's due to the rising popularity of metal detecting in the media, as you know I am posting constant stories to do with metal detecting and treasure finds combined with the tv shows such as detectorists and digging for Britian, no matter how much we enjoy them it's a double edged sword and most positive actions also have a negative reaction... :g43:
