Checked out the local museum and found that this Hoard is close to my home town please see pics, worth a look at the Burton Art Gallery Bideford

Here's one of the coins Image The hoard consists of 435 coins, mainly produced for the 16th and 17th century kings and queens of England, with the exception of two coins for Philip IV of Spain.
