Two hours detecting carried out on sat 19th march 2005. On one of the warmest days so far this year. The Field had just been drilled and rolled with spring barley. The remaining hour of detecting was carried out on sun 20th march 2005, on an adjacent field drilled with winter wheat and have yealded roman finds in the past. Location North West Essex..

Kev, this has to be one of the most fascinating experiments completed online and will go some way toward an understanding of the realities of this hobby. I'm ashamed that I did not get out in all that time, but I was nobbled by circumstances beyond my control. I will help in any way I can with the publishing of these results - as punishment
