Got to agree with above - £8000 is way way overvalued. Don't even think a collector would pay anything approaching that kind of price?

Welcome to the forum Danny. Several things for you.... If your in this hobby to find treasure/gold then this isn't the hobby for you! Near 99% of the things you will find will be trash! bits of lead, copper alloy, ring pulls, wire, buttons (loads of buttons!), screws, nails..... the list is endless....

It is indeed in remarkable condition! and unusually silver, gold AND gilded? Why on earth would you want to guild something already made of precious metal ? very odd indeed. Great find though...
