Re: Advice on new camera please
I had a fuji bridge prior to my canon Tom, hindsight being what it is and devaluation, I wished I waited the extra and just gone straight to the canon The Fuji filled a gap in time, and emptied my wallet. The 450ds are a nice piece of kit and as they are "old" now (2 models behind current)...

Re: Help with new camera please
Samsung only guarantee that the camera will address cards up to 8gb, so don't go too mad on an expensive one.

Re: Help with new camera please
class 4 or higher for a camera, depending on the camera's video capability it may need a higher class, but for most 12mp stuff, class 4 should be sufficient. Amazon do some good cards for less than ebay, and it's genuine rather than fake. Amazon are also about 1/3rd the cost of pc world/dixons etc. ...

Re: new camera
don't et too close, and use the zoom to get a better pic, it worked gret for me with my old fuji, read the manual and find out how close the inimum focus distance is, but its probably about a foot to 18 inches.

Re: Superzooms then - anyone have / had one ?
55-250 doesn't exactly have a "wide" angle to it though, I do really want the moon, on a stick - I know it won't be the best lens doing everything, none of the above would be superb IQ across the whole range, but I don't want to be changing lenses in and out. If I wen't out with an idea of...

Re: Superzooms then - anyone have / had one ?
Yes, its a canon 550D, and ideally I don't want to be swapping lenses at all, so I really do want to cover 18-200(+). Being an APS-C sensor, using a full-frame lens will have more odd results than I want to deal with, and I know I'm seriously limiting my choice due to budget but until I can be sure ...

Superzooms then - anyone have / had one ?
As I don't "do" photography properly, and largely don't plan on doing much other than walking about, taking random shots, I'm after a superzoom lens so I don't have to worry about changing lenses in and out all the time. The options in the running are these: Canon 18-200 Tamron 18-270 Sigm...

Of course if they seized his detector for going equipped, then he wouldn't be in quite such a hurry to do it again either.

Would love to see "Concorde to the skies" as well, what a pair they'd make flying side by side.
