Re: Old favourite soon to be ruined forever!
Its disgusting, not just for the fact it obscures and taints the history of the land for ever. But to actually use that mess with plastic and metal. I don't know how they get away with polluting the land in that way.

Re: Experts stunned by Lens forgotten piece of history
More of our history gone under tarmac and houses, why don,t they contact a metal detecting club to do a search of these fields before they build on them :g43: Because the greedy developers dont want anything holding up the work before they knock up their rubbish ticky tacky overpriced rabbit hutche...

Re: Lightning crash in South Africa
How sad. Poor bloke. I live only 3 miles from what was RAF Leconfield (now an Army mechanical transport training depot) and as a lad used to watch the Lightnings blasting about above my folks house here. They used to zoom round then just climb straight up verticle. It was amazing and thrilling to se...

Re: Dorset big cat 'seen 30 times recently'
How come dead ones have never been found? For example if one of these big cats got knocked down by a car crossing a road. To sustain the population there would have to be lots of them out there. It's weird that loads of people claim to have seen these big cats, yet none of them ever seem to have a ...

Re: New Battle of Bosworth Field site revealed
I saw a piece on the telly a month or so back and they said it was thanks to metal detectorists that they were now almost certain that the new site was the battle site.

Re: Swine flu
I think I just had it too. I had to take a week off work. I think I caught when I had a day out to York the other week. Lots of people from all over so the chances of getting it are high. See, too many people and it spreads. Anyway my symptoms apart from feeling absolutely crap and run down and real...

Re: How the battle of Bosworth was lost
I saw a news report on tv and it gave the metal detectorists quite a decent few words, - eg. because of the detectorists help they now know the site of the battle! Without them they wouldn't know near anywhere as much, if anything.

Re: Swine flu
I note that the UK death toll from this "over hyped great big limp wristed jesse of a virus" has sadly doubled to 14 in the last 48 hours. It still is.- all of the above. Over hyped. Hysterical. Same hype as the bird flu. Just as many people will croak it from a dose of the regular flu. Y...

Re: Swine flu
Your probably not far wrong mate. I think they is using it as a dress rehearsal for the real thing. :g43: Working out the kinks in the system, different parts of the country are handling it in different ways. They are sitting back and watching the results then changing the way they do things. :g58:...
