Re: Any Detectorist's in Folkestone up for a meet?

The Beach is not producing much in the way of finds recently mainly Brass, Aluminum and Copper and the odd spendable coin here and there. Going to save all the metals and take them to the scrap dealer for a couple of quid hopefully :g50:

Re: Info Pls Garrett 250

Well I have been using my Garrett 250 for a few weeks now and I have found on the Beach down here I use All Metal Mode and notch out the top 2 bars near the iron end and then set the sensitivity 4 bars down from max, that way it cuts out a lot of annoying iron on the beach but still find loads of ju...

Re: Garrett Ace 250 Control Box?

I have looked into the Clubs but sadly they all meet in out of town areas or evening times when I'm usually at work and that would need a hefty cab fare or your own car etc and as I don't know anyone that is a MD that owns a car to hitch a lift! so it makes it more impossible to stride away from thi...

Re: Garrett Ace 250 Control Box?

Hi again Puffin & Deetektor and thanks for the information, I have learned to adjust to the tones as a Ring is more of a good hit as a Ding is something there but not sure what it is type of tones, as to the Pin-Pointing with the Garrett Coil it's not too bad other than when I have been digging ...

Re: Any Detectorist's in Folkestone up for a meet?

Well today I had a go between the Leas Lifts and the Mermaid Cafe on the Shingle Beach, it was hard work but managed to find a 1962 One Shilling coin and £1 Coin and lots of mashed up can trash. So I called it a day and walked off back down to the Sandy Beach where it was absolutely empty but did no...

Re: Any Detectorist's in Folkestone up for a meet?

2nd day MD down the Sandy Beach at Folkestone Seafront today and again not a great day as the beach was packed out with our Random March weather :g7: but managed to find an area where I was out of the way and managed to find an old Button and a Lump of Silver or Aluminum not sure? Other finds where ...

Re: Any Detectorist's in Folkestone up for a meet?

Well the beach was nice for the kids but all I dug was trash and not a single coin :g51: and after 2hrs all the members of public started to fill the beach so I called it day!

Ah well you can't win them all, might try and have another go tomorrow seeing as lots of people went down there today
