Thank you Pete and Phil. I have had a look at the online manual for the camera and found that the filters are 67mm, so perhaps that would be the size of the ring flash adapter ?
My wife is going to email the seller as suggested.

Ring Flash For Bridge Camera Advice Please.
I would very much like to be able to photograph coins and artefacts as per dig-it-pete's method using macro and ring flash. I have been in touch with Pete by PM and he has been most helpful. :g25: Pete uses a bridge camera. My wife enjoys taking the pictures and owns the camera used. The problem we ...

Re: Bullets and Musket Balls
Thanks Wigeon :g50: I just Googled windage and it said it was 0.05'' on a Brown Bess. https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=W18lJtJS7hsC&pg=PA135&lpg=PA135&dq=musket+ball+windage&source=bl&ots=fUbEl1H5W7&sig=2y6cThL0M2ZbyTfSWFEWwwQbPbY&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwifn5Ouq...

Re: Bullets and Musket Balls
Thanks for posting these items. I have found that diameters (bore size) can be misleading, in identifying the weapon, if one is not aware of 'windage'. An example of this is the 'Brown Bess' bore size and the size of the balls that it fired. 'Brown Bess' bore was 0.75 or 10 Bore. The balls it fired ...

Re: Ridge and Furrow
Thanks for the good wishes Hectorsfarm. Unfortunately I spoke too soon, the farm is not covered by lidar after all
Nonetheless, now that I have been shown how to use lidar properly, I have noticed lots of anomalies in the area where I live.

Re: Ridge and Furrow
Thanks everyone for the comments and tips. I have an archaeologist friend calling round this morning to show me how to use the lidar site posted by Evo as I couldn't figure it out. The farm is clearly covered by the lidar site though. Thanks again.

Re: Ridge and Furrow
interesting thing to check... i asked about some ridge and furrow fields round here, but they are in fact scheduled. farmer is allowed to graze sheep on them but thats it.. Thanks for that. I have checked and the fields are not scheduled but as they are quite large, I am trying to get a steer on th...

Re: Ridge and Furrow
Where pasture land has not been disturbed by the plough for many years, is this likely to mean that targets will have sunk deeper than on cultivated fields ? Is this a case for going to manual sensitivity increasing it until the machine chatters too much or is auto +3 just as likely to produce finds...

Ridge and Furrow
I am looking forward to detecting on some considerable areas of ridge and furrow on my friend's farm in Lincolnshire where I also do some deerstalking. The area is not scheduled but has been pasture for at least four generations that we can be sure of. There has been no detecting on the farm. I woul...

Re: Guidance for Uploading Photos.
Check the date on your coin Wigeon as George 1V only produced groats in 1836 and 1837 :g43: Thanks Pete. I think you mean William IV ? I had read some on-line sites and looked at the images too. I became aware of the dates but look at it whichever way, I cannot make it a 6 or 7. Having said that th...

Could someone point me to where I can read instructions as to how to upload photographs to the site please ? Hopefully it will be in 'Janet & John' terms. :g46: I have found my first silver coin today. :g50: A William IV dated 1835. Only 16mm with Britannia on the reverse but too worn/corroded o...

Re: The Real Benefits Of Upgrading ?
Cracked it this morning! Six digs with target located spot-on. I had been using a 13'' coil but changed to the standard 11'' supplied with the machine. I think I may need more experience before using the larger coil again ? I did NS/EW and used the 'wiggle' (back-off) method too. Thanks for all the ...
