the site sots mentioned probably brought up well over a 100 hammies over the years for us......, its produced bronze age axes, gold medieval rings, gold medieval brooches, Viking artifacts, roman silvers etc.....................its now a nogo area for me its that bad. I must be in a minority then....I wouldn't pay £8000 for that, yes its a nice piece of chip carved artwork but they cant buy every little piece going and that's way over priced

the coins dont come under the treasure act. The coins will surely belong to the landowner should nobody come forward to claim them? to be honest i`m amazed they were even handed in...if I found them in my garden then they are mine....end of

agree with all you say - I expect the English treasure act laws to be revised after this - and rightly so that might be so but it doesnt change the fact that the treasure valuation committee is a closed shop that massively undervalues the value of these items. lets face it how low a price would the...
