Buckingham Palace has announced that HRH The Prince The Duke of Edinburgh has passed away peacefully this morning aged 99. RIP.

A sad day for Britain indeed. My thoughts are with the Queen to whom he was married for over seventy years. He served his country well. RIP.

Yes - they switched BBC1 and BBC 2 to showing the same broadcast - a little OTT I think, especially as all the other main channels were covering it as well.

Still thats the BBC - do as they like and If they give out apologies, then its after the event and meaningless.

I was more than happy with one BBC channel changing coverage, but two plus radio !!!!!!

Not the end of the world though was it, couple of days or so .

Could of always turned over, even freeview has I believe 80 tv channels :g42:

Oh dear, poor little lambs couldn't see East Enders or Masterchef.

I'm not a Royalist by any means, but I thought the attitude of the BBC was entirely appropriate.
