I wonder if any of our members in this area have seen these scum ?

English Heritage: Report illegal metal detecting to protect Middlewich's history

ENGLISH Heritage has launched an iniatiative to protect Cheshire’s historical sites
after a spate of ‘nighthawking’ incidents in Middlewich.

Not sure that there are licences but they might as well include on the signs 'Here layeth treasure' . I would have though it far better to have the old ' Wilful Damage' signs which would include digging holes as well as other types of damage.

Hope they remember to illuminate the sign :)

I thought EH were teaming up with the Police so they can catch them?

I live not far from Middlewich.
Dont know who these guys are but I bet there not from round here.
Any local would know that they are wasting there time.
Although its a heritage site of a roman fort. its been gone over and dug that many times there shouldn't be anything left to find especially as it is never ploughed.
The signs have gone up now.

I remember the middlewich lads as being good ambassadors for the hobby
