Some people have no common sense whatsoever. It makes you wonder how much money was spent rescuing these lot. Even if not familiar with the area,you would think they would spend a few minutes finding information about the ins and outs of the tide, (pardon the pun) like the report says.

Saying that, I cannot see why Arnside which isn't to far from Blackpool and Morcambe has a warning siren, (and it's bloody loud) which sounds about half hour before the tide reaches the shoreline and does so at 10 minute intervals. This gives people who maybe out on the sandbanks a rough guide as to how much time they have and could save a few lives and quite a lot of money.

We get folks caught out every few weeks during the summer months at Burnham on Sea and Weston Super Mare in Somerset.

There is a special hover craft purchased for the purpose of saving lives.

Folks just dont realise that the Bristol channel has the second highest tide rise and fall in the world.

On the spring tide the speed of waters movement is very fast indeed. Jerry.
