Anyone else hearing that the Minelab CTX 3030 is going for £1519.99p at Maplins? Also, 20% off XTerra models....
Be careful whose toes you step on today. They may be attached to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow.

Just called the customer care number on the website and the lady I spoke to said from what she could see at their end it was a weekend offer due to finish on the 16th.

She said it appeared then that the prices were to go back to what they were before.

So if this is correct it appears to be for a limited time and not a permanent drop.

Still, bargains to be had for the weekend if anybody is wanting one

Rip off Britain is alive and well then? How can they possibly justify selling it at £1900 and then slash the price like that? Just gets me mad that some guys on here were wanting to buy one a few weeks ago, and just couldn't quite afford it.

An over-inflated price once again!!! :g44:......... Grrrrrrrrrr!! Don't get me started!!!! :g44: :g44: :g44:
Professionally aimless wandering.

Joan Allens doing a world cup offer
At the moment 5% off.
But if England get through to the next round then its 10% off...
so £1899 with the big coil...Then 10% off ..sell the big coil and you got a CTX3030 for just over £1500

We are just mugs paying stupid prices for machines. It has nothing whatsoever to do with manufacturing costs or overheads. Everyone wants the latest thing with the latest gizmo's and the manufacturers know there will be plenty out there who want to be seen as the 'elite'.
Today's the day! (Or that's what i've been telling myself for the past thirty years!)

It's like everything else. They look at the prices of comparable machines, and price
theirs to slot in with them. Nothing to do with production costs plus profit.
It's what the market will stand. That's why you see so many cars priced at similar
figures.

If competitors were selling comparable detectors at £4,000, thats about what they
would charge for theirs. As they know people will buy them.

I reckon JAs could confidently say that if England win the world cup ,, they would give them away free,

I feel for the people who have just bought one, having saved up or on finance, and now they have in effect just lost nearly £500.
Then there is the resale value which will be smashed now also. No one in their right mind will be paying anywhere near £1500 for a used one now.
He ho that's how it goes i suppose.

Perhaps the threads need to be merged.
I used to have an issue regarding having an inferiority complex, I no longer have an issue with being inferior.
