Clues behind King John's lost treasure

Lasers help reveal clues behind King John's lost treasure

Legend has it that crown jewels, gold and money were lost in the medieval mud of the fens in 1216.

It was the year after the Magna Carta was sealed, the country was in revolt and King John was having to quell rebellion uprisings. He had been travelling from the port of King's Lynn to Lincoln when, according to historical chronicles, the treasure was lost.

It has since become one of the most sought after troves in the country.

I have worked with lidar maps whilst working on a project on some land where I live near Boston. It gives some great info on the depths of the ground levels ,especially in what appear, from the ground and even from above, areas that seem absoluter flat.
A great new tool.

I did not see the program, but, I find this report very interesting, and wonder how it could ever be made possible for a search to go ahead.

Unless the exact route taken becomes know, the answer is probably that it will never happen, unless of course someone can
use a boat, with some kind of echo sounding kit to be able to locate any items which could prove the existence of the hoard
which is assumed to be there.

We could see a future W.W rally presumably known as "Wash Fleet", with 300 small boats vying for a place to search in, and 30 foot long pin pointers.

I'll get my coat :hahaha: :bus:
